The Manatees won the kickball championship in only their third season of play. All 14 showed up in the playoffs which is a freakin’ miracle and led to three consecutive decisive playoff victories Monday night. It was pretty much utter domination. I can’t even make fun of anybody because everyone kicked ass. Most beers consumed in Manatee history. Peep the pics below…

No Beers = First Manatee Loss

Manatee nation suffered its first loss this week as the team was depleted to an 8 member team in the field. No doubt this was fallout from multiple hangovers and a less than stellar Halftime Show after an exciting Super Bowl weekend. The girls were stellar in the first game, leading the mighty sea cows through a 5 run final inning. Their performance however could not overcome the 2 player advangate in the second game as team Poche (??) ran wild with glee, Pink jerseys, and well executed intimidation to take the second stanza.
After the game, the sea cows retired to Duke’s to enjoy each others company and talk about how sweet it would be for each player to have a theme song play before going up to kick. Please post your choices for your theme song in the comments section and we’ll put together a CD of hits that is sure to shock and awe next week’s victims opponents.

2009 began with a bang as the Manatees swept Effen A to begin the season at 2-0. Good Defense and Steve puking all over the place was the key to victory. Replacement Manatees performed well in the absence of hall of fame hot dog eaters Gabe and Andy. Next week the Manatees play That’s What She Said at 6:30pm, a team we played two seasons ago and should give us a couple hard ones. -that’s what she said.

The winter kickball season could not come fast enough after the egg laid by the Manatees in the fall playoffs. This time the games will be on monday nights at El Dorado Park (Miller & Oak). Go MANATEES!
